Social Action
Our vision is to be an ‘Inspiring, Inclusive Community’ and so we encourage our children to think about our local and wider community and how we can all play an active part. Here is just a taster of what we do.
Every year at Christmas, the KS2 Choir sing carols at Tesco Seacroft, and recently they performed with the White Rose Concert Band during an evening concert. Tickets were available to the wider community as well as parents/carers and staff.
Children also enjoy working with Shadwell in Bloom, creating posters for the village, and helping to ensure the village flowerbeds near to school are well kept.
Our parents/carers are always very generous with donations for Harvest Festival, with donations being passed to our local foodbank.
In addition to the fantastic fundraising done for our school through Friends of Shadwell School (FOSS), we are also pleased to support national campaigns such as Comic Relief, Children in Need and NSPCC Number Day. On Number Day 2025, children and families raised a magnificent £351.50
