Welcome

Welcome to Shadwell Primary School

As the new Headteacher of Shadwell Primary, I am excited to be taking our wonderful school on the next stages of its journey which is guided by our new, community created vision to be an ‘Inspiring inclusive community.’  All parents, staff, governors and children contributed to this which is a true reflection of fact that our school is at the heart of our community and our community is at the heart of our school.

Our school in Shadwell is a one form entry, inclusive Primary School in the heart our beautiful village.  One form entry means we have 30 places per year in our reception class. We have a picturesque semi-rural setting and are fortunate to have a large amount of outdoor space for our children to use throughout the day. We have a caring, family ethos which we are incredibly proud of. We know all our children as individuals, and we tailor our teaching and learning to their needs in this way.  Our children quickly develop their own engagement in their learning, focusing on aspirations for their future and evaluating their progress along the way. Our staff are professional and approachable, caring and dedicated and our expectations of children and ourselves are high.   Our days are based on our core values of confidence, acceptance, resilience and empathy.

We aim to ensure that children can develop academically, socially and emotionally and have the opportunity to shine in their own way.  In our school, we nurture and celebrate children’s dreams and aspirations, and we passionately believe that each day is special for our children; each day is the opportunity to grow and develop in their learning and to develop their interest in the world around us.  In doing this, we aim to help each child achieve their academic potential but not at the expense of childhood.

The Federation of Bramham and Shadwell is a well-established Federation which is dedicated to providing the very best quality in education and pastoral care for children. We pride ourselves in our broad and balanced curriculum which is exciting and challenging. We believe that the love and care given to your child in our school, along with our high expectations and outcomes, provides them with the enjoyment of long-lasting learning which they will use as their foundation stone for life.

Our school is a school where confident, respectful, happy children grow and are nurtured in our inspiring, inclusive community.

I look forward to welcoming you into our school.
