Welcome

Thank you for your interest in coming to work at Shadwell Primary School. I feel very privileged to be the new Headteacher of our school and, when we have vacancies, always look forward to welcoming a new colleague into our school.

If you would like to come and visit to help you with your application, you are warmly welcome. Rather than having fixed times for you to come, please do just contact the school office and we will arrange a time when I can meet you and show you around.  We are very fortunate with the amount of outdoor space we have, and the beautiful views around us, which it will be a pleasure to share with you.

Our school vision – Inspiring Inclusive Community’ was created jointly by staff, children, parents and Governors and we have a very supportive community around us. This enables us to provide additional opportunities for children. Each child is expected to reach their full potential and, with love and academic guidance from all our staff, they achieve this. This demonstrated in our results which we are quietly proud of.

Our school is part of a small primary Federation called the Bramham and Shadwell Federation. This means we work together on joint projects, which enables us to support each other and share our expertise, to help each of us to progress professionally, and provide an engaging curriculum for our children. Both of our schools are thriving one form entry schools and are located in the heart of their village.

In our Federation, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and wellbeing of all children, and we expect our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Careful checks and processes are carried out throughout the recruitment process (and when considering new volunteers in school). For example, safeguarding is a central feature of interviews, online checks are carried out, and a DBS check and full references are acquired before the person takes up post. Governors routinely check to ensure recruitment processes have been thorough.
