Inspiring, Inclusive Community

Community

We provide children with the opportunities to become active participants in our community so that, as they grow, they begin to understand the local, regional and global communities in which they are living.

We are proud to be part of our community - we value the support of our community and enjoy being active participants in it.  Here are just some of the highlights of our community working together with us in school.

We are part of the Bramham and Shadwell Federation and enjoy going on trips and residential visits with the children from Bramham school.

Shadwell in Bloom (SiB) help with our gardens and allotments on our school site.  We also go out into the village with the Shadwell in Bloom volunteers to help plant the floral displays and contribute to the village’s entry to the national ‘In Bloom’ competition.  We also create art work to display around our village so that people know all about the work of SiB.

We enjoy playing tennis with Shadwell Tennis Club who help us learn in school and after school clubs.

Our local church always welcomes us and we collect food at harvest time to give to foodbanks in Leeds.

Our choir goes out and about, especially at Christmas time, to bring musical cheer to our wider community as well as our village community.

Shadwell Parish Council help and support us in any different ways.

Leeds Rhinos visit and help us learn about diversity and inclusion.

The Mayor of Leeds visited us to help us learn about democracy.

We enjoy fundraising for our national community through events such as Children in Need.

And of course……we enjoy taking part in events arrange by the Friends of Shadwell School (FOSS).

We are always looking at new ways to be involved with our community groups.
